A Phone System Buyer’s Guide
Based on an article published by the
Small Business Association
“It’s time to buy a
phone system….They are all
pretty much alike….
I’ll get a few proposals and pick the cheapest!”
Because of technological limitations and varying degrees of system
integration are a lot more different than they may first appear.
Many
phone systems require multiple keystrokes and special “codes” to perform
some routine tasks, such as answering calls, transferring calls, sending a
call to voice mail and retrieving voice mail messages. With “automatic
hold” you can reduce some of these functions to as little as one keystroke.
Businesses need powerful and flexible features to improve in office
productivity, efficiency and customer service. A phone system must be easy
to understand and use. Your phone system needs to provide adequate capacity
for your future needs. Look at the proposed phone set. Understand how it
functions.
THREE CRITICAL QUESTIONS
When reviewing phone
systems and their proposals, it’s important to ask three critical questions.
- Does the system
include all the features, functions and capacity for my business needs?
- Is it easy and
efficient to use?
- Did the Dealer
effectively demonstrate the system functions?
